What is Counselling?
Counselling is a type of talking therapy that looks at the whole person, taking into account your mental, physical and emotional needs. As your therapist I will use techniques and tools from different modalities to tailor an individual approach for you and hope that together we will build a trusting and non-judgmental relationship that helps you to develop a deeper level of self-awareness. When you understand the causes of your concerns or triggers for your behaviour, you can then confidently set goals and develop new behaviours to improve all areas of your life.
As your counsellor I will encourage you to talk through what brings you to therapy so you start to develop a deeper insight into what is going on for you.
Together I will help you develop skills and tools to challenge unhelpful thinking, support you in accessing and managing emotions, so that you become empowered to resolve the problems you bring.
Counselling is also a space for personal development, not just crisis management. Many people come to counselling who want to develop greater self-confidence, so they can move forwards more effectively in life with greater levels of happiness.
Counselling would benefit you if you are currently struggling with:
Anxiety
Depression
Low self worth
Relationships
Negative thinking
Inability to cope
Disrupted sleep
